Facebook Networking

Ok, so I am really a facebook junkie now!  I'm renewing ties from old friends, and having a ball getting updates on them, seeing photos, and everything in between.  Also, I have added a few pages about my businesses, and the most exciting thing is my new group.

I started the "Shop-Buy-Sell-Trade-Show" group on facebook.  This is a fun group for people who have in-home businesses to share their products and services.  It's always nice to shop among people you already know and trust, and to be able to help your friends start up their businesses!  If you have a facebook, find the group, join, and share what business you have with all of us!  From Mary Kay, to Landscaping, to washing windows even!

Folsom Open Air Market

Ok, so I keep saying that I'm going to be doing the Folsom Open Air Market on Saturdays, but it keeps getting canceled!  Currently, they are working on finding a new location for the market with more visibility so as to bring in a bigger crowd and help the event grow in popularity.

I am ready when they are, and I'll let you all know as soon as I know when I'll be doing it.  It's going to be great.  Especially in the summer when it's fun to be in the sun and spend quality time outdoors.  It's always fun to go shopping too!

I am so excited to be doing an outdoor event.  I hope you all with be able to come by and see me at least one Saturday this summer!

Myspace and Facebook

Ok, so I've had a myspace as long as it's been around pretty much, and I haven't been an active user for about 3 1/2 years.  My old Myspace got all bugged out, so I decided to make a new one!  I started updating my un-used facebook too!  You'll be able to find me on both now smile  I have pictures of Gold Canyon products on Myspace.  I hope to update both MS and FB with Cookie Lee and Gold Canyon pics and info.

My myspace URL is:
www.myspace.com/sparklescentsation

I'm not really sure how facebook links work, but this is the URL when my profile page is on the page :P

Find me, add me, and keep in touch!

Broken Toe!

Posted by Robyn at 07:02 PM on May 21, 2008 Comments comments (0)
Well, I have my first real broken bone in my entire life.  I say real, because the first broken bone I had didn't really count.  I wasn't too inconvenienced and troubled by it for the recovery.  My cousin roller bladed over my finger, and my pinky bone split at the very very tip.  Lost the nail, and I had one stitch.  I was a tough little 9 year old smile
Ok ok, so about the more recent events.  I was in Fort Bragg staying at a hotel with John to be there for a friend's wedding.  They got married on the bluff, and it was a beautiful view!  Anyways, I was in the hotel room sitting at the desk, and the chair needed to be scooted up.  You know how you sit on a chair with your hands under it, and stand up and sit down repeatedly until you've scooted the chair all the way?  I did that right on top of my pinky toe!
Talk about pain!  It was black and blue within 20 min, and it was the size of an olive almost immediately.  The pain lessened on our 4-hour-drive home, it still hurts to walk on it even today.  I am bound to flip flops until I can get my foot into a shoe with little pain vs. a lot.
Well, that's the latest and greatest, so pray I get better soon!  I hate walking like a gimp sad

Folsom Open Air Market

I'm going to be doing my very first event this summer with Gold Canyon!  I'm going to be a vendor for the Folsom Open Air Market.  It's in Folsom (of course smile in the High School parking lot.  I am so excited.  I can't do every Saturday, so I'm trying to get some of the other local demonstrators to fill in on the days that I can't do it.  But if you happen to be in Folsom on any given Saturday from May 24th to the last Saturday in June, and happen to attend, you just might see me there!

Looking for a house!!

John and I are currently looking to move into a house within the next year.  We did find a really nice new development in Orangevale, but we are still looking to find all the best options.  Anyone have any advice about purchasing our first home?  Send it our way!  We are so tired of living in an apartment, and feel we need more space and security for our future.  There are so many pros over cons, but still a lot to consider and be patient for.  We're still saving like crazy, and every penny we earn is being saved carefully for it!  Even with my candles and jewelry!  Wish us luck in this new venture in our lives smile

Money saving tip

Posted by Robyn at 05:23 PM on April 22, 2008 Comments comments (0)
For your savings account (if you bank online), every once in awhile go online and transfer the cents from your checking into your savings to make it an even $XXX.00.  Some days when you're inspired even more to save, even out the cents and the dollars to be $XXX0.00, and so on and so forth smile

There are even some banks that have a "keep the change" option for online bankers.  I think it's something like when you use your debit card or credit card, it rounds the cents you paid up, and deposits the balance into your savings.  So if you got charged $45.50, it would take the $.50 of the dollar you didn't spend and deposit it into your savings smile

Hmm....what's new?

Not a WHOLE lot is new with us, but we're plugging!  I'm always looking forward to doing shows while John is constantly working on finishing the program.  Between work, church responsibilities, and my business, we're always looking forward to the time that we have to spend with friends and family.  We're always looking for a night out!  Have something fun in mind?  Let us know about it!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Lightplanet.com

I had the sudden urge today to google "mormon wear" to see if there were any fun lds print shirts and stuff to entertain myself - having caught up on everything I do at this time of the day - and I cam across Lightplanet.com.  The link I clicked on was in regards to the garments we wear in the temple, and I was a little curious to see what these people had to say about it.  To my surprise, they were actually accurate!  I looked into the site more, and found out that it's a website dedicated to the education of...well...everyone as to what the different religions are about.  On the home page, I noticed a lot of references to the family and thought to myself, "I wonder if the people who made this site are LDS?".  And sure enough, there's the family proclamation to the world!  This site is obviously not affiliated with the official LDS websites, but it's nice that someone was up to creating it.

Nice thought of the day I suppose smile
